Progress in reading, writing and maths

These scores show how much progress pupils at this school made in reading, writing and maths between the end key stage 1and the end of key stage 2, compared to pupils across England who got similar results at the end of key stage 1.

A score above zero means pupils made more progress, on average, than pupils across England who got similar results at the end of key stage 1.

A score below zero means pupils made less progress, on average, than pupils across England who got similar results at the end of key stage 1.

A negative progress score does not mean pupils made no progress, or the school has failed, rather it means pupils in the school made less progress than other pupils across England with similar results at the end of key stage 1.

These results are testament to the dedication and hard work by our teachers to help children learn and perform well.  The embedding of Talk4Writing, targeted interventions for girls maths, new approaches to challenge our more able mathematicians, and our continued excellent approaches for phonics have had a huge impact on achievement.

11+

In September 2014, 17 of our pupils passed the 11+ exam;  this was the highest percentage pass rate of all schools in Marlow.  In September 2015, 24 of our pupils passed the 11+ exam. 2015 results have not yet been published for all schools.

Looking ahead

We aim to continue to improve our results as we strive towards our goal to be an Outstanding School that offers inspiring approaches to learning..  We will build on the effective work that has already been undertaken, and with the introduction of new reading schemes and guided reading in school this year, alongside other exciting new learning initiatives, we expect to see this positive impact reflected in our results next year.
