Danesfield was selected to be a Microsoft Showcase School in January 2016, in recognition of our continued drive to develop the use of technology and 21st Century Learning approaches across the primary curriculum. We pride ourselves on teaching in innovative and creative ways, effectively using technology in lessons to enhance and extend learning in order to prepare the children at Danesfield for not only the next stage of their education, but also the demands of the 21st century workplace.
Mrs Morgan, Mrs Wilson, Mr Colley and Miss Huxtable have been named Microsoft Innovative Educator Experts (or MIEEs) and Mrs Wilson was even asked to attend The E2 - Educator Exchange conference in Toronto. Microsoft in Education’s annual event brings together the most innovative educators from around the world to collaborate, create, and share their experiences on how to integrate technology and pedagogy to advance learning, achieve student outcomes and transform education.
In September 2016, we were also selected as one of only 6 Microsoft Training Schools in the country. Danesfield work closely with Microsoft to lead innovation in education and communicate a vision for education enabled by technology through the hosting and mentoring of other schools in the community on transformational educational practices. It allows us to share the incredible practice seen throughout the school and through the Microsoft Educator Community, our staff are constantly updating their knowledge and understanding of how best to use technology and 21st Learning approaches in lessons and are always learning from one another to give the children the best education possible.
