We have won the community grant of £5000 from One Family Foundation to develop our outdoor area! Thank you for all your hard work in voting and campaigning in Marlow and at your places of work. Your support has been invaluable and will benefit so many children. Well done to the whole Danesfield School community.
ROAD CAMPAIGN GOOD NEWS
As many of you are aware, the Local Area Forum meeting took place last night at Liston Hall and I wanted to pass on the wonderful news. Following Medmenham Parish Council’s application (on behalf of Danesfield School) the LAF has agreed to fund the cost of implementing Stage 1 of the speed reduction scheme in this current financial year. Stage 1 is predominantly the ‘design’, planning and preparation which includes vegetation clearance, painting white lines and installation of school warning signs. It also includes installation of 2 solar powered signs which will flash ‘20mph’, although these won't be 'live' until Phase 2 has been implemented. Phase 2 involves MPC putting in another application relating to next financial year's LAF budget, which would cover the cost of reducing the speed limit to 40mph with 20mph signs flashing when school opens and closes. We hope the initial signage and preparation work will start as soon as possible, and MPC will chase Bucks County Council to ensure swift implementation.
I would like to personally thank all the parents, governors and Medmenham Parish Council, together with the wider Marlow community, who signed our petition. Everyone has worked so hard on the school’s behalf to ensure a safer environment for our children. The dedicated team of campaigners have ensured a permanent change to the speed limit outside of Danesfield and we are all very grateful.
